Our Commitment
Belonging House prays daily for one million sanctified, fearless artists. These warrior artists are called to go into the centers of culture and disciple nations for Jesus Christ.
We are not into membership or rules, but we do encourage artists “under the Belonging House roof” to make a simple commitment to a lifestyle of Christian discipleship.
This is really what sets us apart from the pack.
We encourage artists and creative people to make a personal commitment to our mission summed up in the 12 “I Wills” of Belonging House.
The Twelve I Wills
- I will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and love other people.
- I will surrender myself to the Holy Spirit, and depend on His supernatural help.
- I will attend to the Breaking of the Bread and Prayer.
- I will stay in relationship with others who are passionate about Jesus.
- I will saturate myself in all of the Bible and let its story become my story.
- I will listen to the Lord, and do what He tells me.
- I will pursue excellence in my craft, and continually choose to grow and learn.
- I will go low, become a servant, and trust that God will raise me up.
- I will become more aware of Christ in me, the hope of glory.
- I will live a life of generosity.
- I will embrace my vocation as an artist, artisan or creative professional, no matter my medium, knowing that God wants to transform the kingdoms of this world into the Kingdom of our Lord through the arts and creativity.
- I will live a life of expectation knowing Christ will come again.
Embracing a Lifestyle of Christian Discipleship
Listen to God.
The fastest way to learn to listen to God is to hear the voice of Jesus. We encourage everyone to read the daily gospel lesson, and sit with God for at least 15 minutes. Write down what God is telling you, and share it with a trusted friend. You will soon learn to recognize the voice of the Shepherd.
Fast and Pray.
Our community prays together daily, and we ask everyone to pray for Belonging House and our mission to raise up a million sanctified, fearless artists.
Many of us fast on Fridays until 3:00 pm. Any form of self-denial counts as fasting.
Be Generous.
Many artists and creative people struggle with fear and a poverty mindset. The best way to get free from this is to give generously. We ask every one who has made the Belonging House Commitment to support us financially, and live a lifestyle of generosity. Giving is the best way to receive.

Belonging House has a Mighty Network Community for artists, creative people, and those who love them. Jesus is looking for artists who are his disciples.

Learn to listen to God.
The heart of our mission and message is this: Listen to the Lord and do what he tells you.
We have learned the fastest way to learn how to hear God is to listen to the voice of Jesus. This is why we use the gospel readings. Some folks from free church backgrounds bristle at our discipleship model, but our approach is simple.
Becoming a disciple of Jesus is not about discipline and information. Becoming a disciple is about transformation and the conforming to the Image of God.
We are committed to everyone under the Belonging House roof becoming whole, healthy, mature, and normal.
Not about religious rules.
Many newcomers to Belonging House are accustomed to the American church culture that is all about rulekeeping and performance. We are a welcoming community committed to raising up warrior artists. We have crafted an intentional culture outside the mainstream.
In 20 years of ministry we have found the essential tools to help people learn to listen to God and walk out a lifestyle of discipleship.
These are not requirements, but an invitation to a lifestyle of transformation into a master copy of Jesus, the Icon of the Father.
You will be a different kind of artist after you become a disciple.
