The House of Artisans
Like a Herd of Cats.
We believe many artists and creative people are like cats. Cats do not like being forced into an institution, and need to be invited in.
If you run from church, we are probably the place for you. We have tried to make our online church a place for you to belong.
We are not a “point and shoot” church online. House of Artisans does life on Zoom using the ancient fourfold pattern of worship: Praise, Scripture, Communion, and Blessing.
Each week Christ John Otto teaches Kingdom based Biblical messages for artists.
A Church For Churchless Artists
We are Scriptural.
We believe in the inspiration and authority of the Bible. We attempt to understand the Bible through historic teaching, the Kingdom of God, and a Jewish sensibility.
We are Supernatural.
We are believe in the ongoing work and charisms of the Holy Spirit. We see often see physical healing and miracles in our community. We recognize that God is actively working and speaking to us daily.
We are Sacramental.
We believe in the historic traditions, sacramental ministry, and faith entrusted to us by the church. This heritage informs our understanding of the Bible, and our practice as Christian disciples.
We are Unaffliated, but not Independent.
Some in our community describe our church as “Messi-Anglican.” We are kingdom focused and “Jewish flavored.” The roots of Belonging House are in the charismatic renewal in the Episcopal Church, USA. House of Artisans is not affiliated with any denomination.
When can I join you?
We gather on Zoom for Worship, prayer, scripture, teaching, community, and communion.
We follow the set readings of scripture followed by the Anglican and Catholic church, and share in Holy Communion as a community.
Bring your Bible, Bread and Wine, and an open heart.
We meet each week at 1pm ET, 6pm UK for about two hours.
God is calling Artists and Creative people to lead during a time of reformation and transformation.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
